Privacy Policy

Folders for Claude (“the extension”, “we”) is a Chrome extension that lets you organize your claude.ai conversations into folders. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles. Short version: your folders stay in your browser, and we never read your messages.
1. Data the extension stores
To show your folders, the extension saves the following in your browser using Chrome's
chrome.storage API:
- The folders you create (name, color, order, collapsed or expanded).
- For each chat you add to a folder: its ID (taken from the chat's URL) and its title, as shown in Claude's sidebar.
- Simple settings (for example whether sync is on) and whether you have a Pro plan.
- A counter of how many chats you have filed, used only to show a single, dismissible “rate us” message.
The extension does not read, store or transmit the content of your conversations, your prompts, Claude's replies, files, or your Claude account details.
2. Where the data lives
- By default: only on your device, in Chrome's local extension storage. We have no servers and cannot see it.
- If you turn on Sync (Pro): the same data is also saved in Chrome sync storage, which Google syncs between the computers where you are signed in to Chrome with the same Google account. That sync is operated by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. We still cannot see it.
3. Payments
Pro plans are sold through ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe to process payments. When you upgrade, you enter your email and card details on their pages, not in the extension. We never see or store your card details.
To know whether you have paid, the extension stores a random, anonymous identifier generated by ExtensionPay and periodically asks extensionpay.com for your plan status. ExtensionPay may share with us your email address and payment status so we can provide support. Payment data is handled by ExtensionPay and under Stripe's privacy policy.
4. What we don't do
- No analytics, tracking pixels or advertising.
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties.
- No use of data for creditworthiness, lending, or any purpose unrelated to organizing your chats.
- No remote code: all code ships inside the extension package.
5. Permissions
storage— to save your folders.- Access to
claude.ai— to display the folders in Claude's sidebar and read chat titles and IDs. - Access to
extensionpay.com— required by ExtensionPay to confirm a purchase.
6. Your control
- Export or import your folders at any time from the extension's Settings page.
- Delete everything by removing the extension (Chrome deletes its local storage). If you used Sync, turn it off first or clear Chrome sync data in your Google account.
- Cancel a subscription at any time from the extension (“Manage subscription”).
7. Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's store listing.
